Energy efficiency isn’t just about big infrastructure projects – it’s also about the small, smart changes that can add up over time. That’s exactly what one of our partners – Califia Farms – proved in 2024 when they joined CLEAResult’s multi-year Strategic Energy Management (SEM) program.
After a facility-wide energy audit, nearly 50 opportunities were identified to optimize operations and reduce energy waste. Then, the team went to work.
Quick wins with long-term impact
In the first phase of implementation, the focus was on small but high-impact fixes:
- Steam trap repairs improved steam quality and piping efficiency
- Compressed air leaks were sealed, reducing energy loss during production
- Motor belt upgrades on refrigeration condensers brought higher efficiency and increased system performance
Individually, these improvements might seem minor, but combined, they’re generating significant gas and electricity savings – and we’re just beginning our SEM journey with Califia Farms.
